POLICIES
This Guest Policy Agreement establishes the rules and conditions governing a guest's stay at “Salo Commune” (“SALO”), located in “Co-operative Republic of Guyana” (“Guyana”). By booking online, checking in, occupying a room, or otherwise using SALO facilities, the Guest agrees to comply with this Agreement, SALO posted rules, and all applicable laws.
ARTICLE I- RESERVATIONS AND BOOKINGS
1.1 Booking Requirements. SALO does not provide lodging to individuals under the age of eighteen (18). All Guests that book and occupy a room at SALO must be at least eighteen (18) years old. Guests must provide accurate information when making a reservation, including the Guest’s legal name, contact information, requested dates of stay, number of occupants, and any other information reasonably necessary to process the reservation.
1.2 Guest Information. The Guest is responsible for reviewing the reservation information and notifying SALO promptly if any information is incorrect. The Guest may not knowingly provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information when making a reservation.
1.3 Reservation Confirmation. A reservation is considered confirmed when the Guest contacts SALO +592 7492096, sends the required payment or payment authorization and SALO has issued a reservation confirmation to the Guest on WhatsAPP. The Guest is responsible for reviewing the reservation confirmation and immediately notifying SALO of any errors or discrepancies.
1.4 Third-Party Bookings. Third-party websites, online travel agencies (OTAs), or external booking platforms do not constitute a finalized, confirmed reservation in the Property's local management system. Third parties confirmation voucher represents an offer to book and a financial transaction with that vendor only. The Property is not liable for data transmission delays, inventory over bookings, or technical errors originating from external platforms. A reservation is only deemed fully guaranteed once the Guest receives a direct, unique confirmation number issued directly by the Property's internal front desk or management team.
1.5 Room availability. All reservations are subject to room availability. SALO will make reasonable efforts to provide the room type reserved by the Guest. If the reserved room type becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, SALO may issue a refund or credit.
1.6 Occupancy limits. Each room is subject to the maximum occupancy established by SALO based on the room type. The Guest may not exceed the applicable occupancy limit without prior authorization from SALO. SALO may require additional charges for additional authorized occupants where such charges were disclosed before or during the booking process.
1.7 Payment Authorizations. The Guest must provide a valid payment method when required by SALO. By providing a credit card, debit card, or other authorized payment method, the Guest authorizes SALO to process charges properly associated with the reservation and disclosed SALO services, including room charges, taxes, deposits, authorized incidental charges, and other applicable fees.
ARTICLE II- NON-REFUNDABLE RESERVATIONS
2.1 Non-Refundable Rates. A reservation identified as “Non-Refundable” is subject to the non-refundable terms disclosed to the Guest before the reservation is completed. By selecting a non-refundable rate, the Guest acknowledges that the rate is offered at the stated price in exchange for accepting restrictions on cancellation and refunds. Unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved by SALO, amounts paid for a non-refundable reservation will NOT be returned solely because the Guest later decides not to use the reservation.
2.2 Reservation Cancellations. When a guest cancels a reservation; they will not receive a refund. A Guest’s failure to arrive for a scheduled stay will be treated as a cancellation or no-show in accordance with the applicable reservation terms.
2.3 Credit. At SALO’s discretion, SALO may issue a credit instead of a monetary refund for a canceled non-refundable reservation. Any credit must be expressly approved by SALO and may be subject to conditions, including an expiration date, limitations on use, or restrictions to room types or dates. Unless otherwise stated in writing by SALO, a credit does not constitute a cash refund. The issuance of a credit for one reservation does not create an obligation for SALO to issue a credit for future cancellations.
2.4 Exceptions to the Non-Refundable Policy. SALO may approve an exception to the non-refundable policy when circumstances warrant an exception. Any exception must be approved by an authorized SALO representative and may be subject to reasonable documentation or other conditions.
ARTICLE III- CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
3.1 Check-In Requirements. Guests must provide valid government-issued identification. SALO may require a valid credit or debit card, cash deposit, or other authorized form of payment to cover room charges, taxes, fees, and incidental expenses.
3.2 Late Arrivals. Guests expecting to arrive after SALO standard check-in time should notify SALO as soon as reasonably possible. A late arrival does not extend the Guest’s reservation or reduce the amount owed for the reserved stay.
3.3 Check-Out times. Guests must check-out by 12pm. Guests who remain in the room after the established check-out time without prior authorization will be subject to the full deposit charge.
3.4 Late Check-Outs. SALO does not offer late check-outs. Guests that remain in their room after 12pm will incur a late check-out fee. Late check-out fees will be fifty (50) percent of the Guests deposit.
ARTICLE IV- PAYMENT & ADDITIONAL CHARGES
4.1 Room Charges. The Guest is responsible for the room rate stated in the reservation confirmation, together with applicable taxes, mandatory fees, and authorized additional charges. SALO will disclose applicable mandatory charges in accordance with applicable law.
4.2 Taxes and Fees. All room rates quoted are subject to a 10% Room Accommodation Tax. All other hospitality services, food, beverages, and incidental charges are subject to the standard 14% Value-Added Tax (“VAT”). These statutory taxes are levied in accordance with the laws of Guyana and are administered by the Guyana Revenue Authority (“GRA”). Any applicable local municipal fees or environmental levies, if instituted by the local municipality, will be added to the guest's final folio and are the sole responsibility of the guest upon check-out. If applicable tax rates or governmental charges change after a reservation is made, SALO may collect the legally required amount.
4.3 Deposits. SALO may require a security or incidental deposit at check-in when disclosed as part of SALO’s booking terms. The deposit may be used for authorized charges, including damage or other amounts properly owed by the Guest. Any remaining balance of the deposit will be returned in accordance with SALO’s applicable procedures and applicable law.
